1920’s Inspired Bridesmaids Dresses

I have been crazy busy the last few weeks putting the finishing touches on a custom order for a friend of a friends wedding party. It was a lot of fun to do and they came out beautifully, I may be biased because I made them but whatever I think they look great. Also the girls loved them and got tons of compliments.  The bride wanted a 1920’s inspired wedding so we went with a dropped waist flapper inspired look. All together I made 10 dresses in about 12 weeks. The main color was a dark purple and the maid of honors dress was nude and gold.  Let me just say working with sequin fabric is a total pain in the ass. Sure the completed piece looks good but cutting it out was so dangerous. Sequins were flying everywhere and I even got hit on the eye once so I learned when working with sequins wear safety goggles, also be prepared to have sequins absolutely everywhere.

I have a few in progress pictures and my quick sketches. I also have one picture from the wedding so far, but I’m sure there will be tons more and I will post an update later when I get more pictures to show you all. But thanks to my amazing photographer friend he posted a pick during the wedding for me to see, also go check out his site http://www.rickydorn.com. now on to the pictures….
