I love fall, because this means I get to layer my clothes and wear cozy outfits. But I live in California and it is still pretty warm here which means I have to get a bit creative with my fall looks. I am usually looking for ways to bring trends into my wardrobe without spending a lot of money and making sure the pieces I do get are versatile. This way I can usually wear them all year. Now I don’t usually follow many of the seasons big trends but I like to incorporate what I can. Another thing, I don’t get to dress up as often as I like so my daily outfits are usually fairly basic. However, I do really like to get a bit fancier on the weekends when I go out to run errands or I have some plans. Also my budget for clothing is pretty minuscule so I just challenge myself to make what I want instead of buying it.
Now on to my Fall outfit!
I paired my embroidered lace top with a high waist plaid skirt I made about a year or two ago. The colors of my skirt are a bit bright for fall colors but the dark blue of my top tones it down and give s more of a fall vibe. A big bonus, this skirt is so much fun to wear and it’s perfect for twirling! The fullness and the gauzy material make it easy to wear and light enough to wear on the heat of summer or pair comfortably with tights in the fall. The fact that there are two different plaids put together is really unique too so I had to make it so the lining would be seen as well.
I also made my clutch with the gold leather lightning bolt sewn on the front for my love of Harry Potter. I really do enjoy making my clothes and accessories. It make my closet unique and I love having pieces that fit amazing and no one else has. Also it shows my personality and style better then buying something that I usually want to change anyway
What do you think the next piece I create for my closet should be?
Fun fact about me: I am truly a nerd at heart I love reading and video games. Also I am in love with the Harry Potter series its a well known fact to really anyone who has met me. I have 2 small Potter inspired tattoos.
